Youth Forum on Debt and Reparations
“Africa’s Freedom Is In Our Hands”. The substantive focus is debt, reparations, colonial debt cancellation and youth-led action. Three planned outcomes are a Youth Action Agenda on Reparations, a Grassroots Toolkit for Reparations Action, and a Youth.
Historical context: The forum is framed around the legacy of colonialism, reparative justice and Africa’s economic sovereignty. The organisers link the event to the wider continental debate over colonial debt and reparations, including recent political developments in the Sahel and Ghana’s experience with default, austerity and IMF-monitored restructuring.
