Dominican Republic’s Rising Costs Fuel Political Debate

Former Dominican Republic President Leonel Fernández said growing public dissatisfaction with the country’s economic situation is increasing support for his opposition party, the People’s Force (FP), while reducing confidence in the governing Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM). Fernández argued that rising living costs and broader economic challenges have contributed to changing public opinion and greater support for alternative political leadership.

Speaking on the country’s political climate, Fernández stated that many citizens are expressing frustration over inflation, employment, and the cost of living.
